Two container houses with the same external dimensions can differ by a factor of three in price. The difference is configuration: panel core, glazing, fit-out level and electrical scope. This guide lists the decisions that should be fixed before production starts, because most of them cannot be changed afterwards.
| Category | Options | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Size | 20 ft, 30 ft, 40 ft, custom module | Floor area, weight, transport method, price |
| Panel core | EPS, rock wool, glass wool, PU | Insulation, fire behaviour, weight, cost |
| Panel thickness | 50, 75, 100 mm and above | Thermal performance, wall thickness, internal area |
| Layout | Open plan, 1–5 rooms, wet areas | Partitions, service routing, door positions |
| Floor finish | PVC, laminate, tile-effect | Wear, appearance, cleaning |
| Windows and doors | Size, position, glazing, sliding or casement | Daylight, security, cost |
| Electrical | Voltage, socket type, lighting, distribution box | Compliance in the destination market |
| Plumbing | Bathroom, kitchenette, water heater, drainage | Site connections required, weight |
| Exterior finish | Colour, coating, cladding | Appearance, corrosion resistance |
Electrical standards are not universal. Voltage, frequency, plug type and certification differ by market, and a unit built to the wrong standard cannot be corrected on site. Confirm the destination requirements in writing before production.
Exterior colour, cladding and signage can be specified for brand or site consistency. For rental and hospitality operators, a consistent exterior finish across a fleet of units has a direct effect on how the accommodation is perceived and priced. Internal finishes — wall colour, floor tone and joinery style — should be agreed from physical samples rather than screens.
Yes. Internal partitions and service positions are set during production, so supply a floor plan with the enquiry.
EPS for economy in mild climates, rock wool where fire performance matters, PU for cold conditions. State the climate and any fire requirement.
Yes, and you should. Provide voltage, frequency and socket type for the destination market before production.
Furniture can be included at extra cost. Specify what is required, as it affects weight, packing and shipping cost.
Exterior colours can normally be specified. Provide a colour reference and confirm it against a sample before production.
Send your floor plan, climate conditions and electrical standard; we will return a configured specification and quotation.
